Media Center Rules
The media center staff is happy to welcome all students back to a new school year. In the media center, there are rules of conduct and check out limits based on grade level. The following information is provided to keep parents informed of these rules and procedures.
Library Rules
1. Always show respect.
2. Use indoor voices.
3. Come with clean hands.
4. Come with clean feet.
5. Walk at all times.
Check out limits
Kindergarten: One book for one week
First Grade: Two books for one week
Second Grade: Two books for two weeks
Third Grade: Three books for two weeks
Fourth Grade: Four books for two weeks
Fifth Grade: Five books for two weeks
Students are encouraged to take only what they can read in one or two weeks depending on the grade. Books should be returned to the Media Center in a timely manner. We do not charge overdue fines, but we do charge for damaged or lost books. Please encourage your students to be responsible and respectful media center patrons.
Students in second through fifth grade may check magazines as a part of their book limit, but no more than two magazines are allowed at one time. Teachers often have their own requirements for students when selecting media center materials. Magazines have a one-week check out period.
